To accomplish this goal, Redwood Empire Public Media has established these goals:
Continue to build our mailing list and offer outreach when possible to attract and hire diverse individuals;
Seek candidates for the Board of Directors and Community Advisory Board that represent the geographical and demographical diversity of northern California;
Continue to work with students at Cal-Poly Humboldt and College of the Redwoods to discover new talent and increase participation of independent filmmakers.
During FY 2023 (July – June) KEET’s workforce consisted of seven females and seven males. The staff is 93% Caucasian. Redwood Empire Public Media is headquartered in Eureka, the largest city in Humboldt County, which is 98% Caucasian with a population that is 50% female and 50% male.
Redwood Empire Public Media’s governing board consists of nine members — seven are female and two are male. The Board is multigenerational and is representative of Humboldt County and northern California.
The Community Advisory Board has four members of which three are female and one is male. The Advisory Board is also multigenerational and representative of the region.
