The mission of KEET-TV is to educate and enrich our communities by providing informative, entertaining programs and innovative outreach, creating public dialogue on local and global issues, foster lifelong educational opportunities, promote responsible citizenship, and build vital community partnerships.
The KEET-TV Community Advisory Board (CAB) is a group of up to 15 individuals composed of a reasonable representation of the diverse needs and interests of the communities served by KEET-TV and shall serve as ambassadors from the station to the community. The CAB members shall serve two-year, staggered terms (maximum six years) and shall meet at least twice a year.
The CAB responsibilities (as stated in Section 396(k)(8) of the Communications Act) are to review the programming goals established by KEET-TV, review the service provided by KEET-TV, review the significant policy decisions rendered by KEET-TV and advise the KEET-TV Board of Directors whether the programming and other policies of the station are meeting the specialized educational and cultural needs of communities served by KEET-TV as determined by the advisory board. The CAB may make recommendations as it considers appropriate to the governing board to meet those specialized needs.
The role of the CAB shall be solely advisory in nature, except to the extent other responsibilities are delegated to the CAB by the KEET-TV Board of Directors. In no case shall the CAB have any authority to exercise any control over the daily management or operation of KEET-TV.
