Headline Humboldt Director - Part-time

KEET-TV, the sole service PBS station in Eureka, California is seeking a Director for our news program Headline Humboldt.  This new part-time position works with other production department staff and volunteers to direct, record, edit and distribute KEET-TV’s weekly news program Headline Humboldt.

Qualifications required for this position include but are not limited to a bachelors’ degree or equivalent or a minimum of three years experience in the recording and editing of news materials.  Strong interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, essential.  Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Adobe software including Premiere and Photoshop are required.

A valid California driver’s license and evidence of insurance is required. Applicants must be able to operate a van or truck and must be able to lift 50 pounds. 

The starting pay rate for this position is $20.00 per hour.  This is a part-time position with hours between 8 and 24 per week.  The schedule is very flexible, with the exception of the day Headline Humboldt is recorded in the studio.

Production - Full-time

KEET-TV, the sole service PBS station in Eureka, California is seeking a Producer/Director/Editor/Videographer.  This full-time position works with other production department staff and volunteers to develop, produce, record and edit programming for broadcast and non-broadcast distribution.

Qualifications required for this position include but are not limited to a bachelors’ degree or equivalent or a minimum of three years experience in the recording and editing of programs and/or promotional materials.  Advanced training or experience is required in video editing, shot composition, camera operation, lighting and audio, in both field and studio locations.  Strong interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, essential. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Adobe software including Premiere and Photoshop are required.

A valid California driver’s license and evidence of insurance is required.  Applicants must be able to operate a van or truck and must be able to lift 50 pounds. 

The starting pay rate for this position is $16.50 per hour.  KEET offers a competitive benefits package including health, dental and vision insurance, life insurance and 401(k) plan.  There are 12 paid holidays as well as 10 days of annual leave.
