Welcome to KEET

David Gordon

I'm David Gordon, Executive Director of KEET.

KEET has a very proud history of being an important part of life here for over 50 years. We serve our local communities with trusted news and programs that inspire, respect and educate our audience. We deliver this service through multiple outlets, including broadcast and digital media, adapting to remain relevant in a rapidly changing world.

KEET provides five distinct channels of programming: KEET-HD; PBS Kids; Create; FN/X (First Nations Experience); and World. These five channels include everything from Sesame Street, Alma's Way and Donkey Hodie to Masterpiece, Frontline, NOVA and American Experience. And there are the local productions that you help make possible like the Telly Award-winning Addicts Among Us, Headline Humboldt, Studio Space, What's On Your Bucket List, Live from the Old Steeple, Harmony in the Eel River Basin, Lost Coast Sessions, North Coast Cuisine, Searchlight Serenade and so much more. That is the essence of what we do: Bring programming of cultural, musical, educational and entertainment significance to people who would otherwise never see them.

We rely on financial support from our members and we would like to add YOU to our public television family. If you are not a member already I hope you'll consider joining as a Sustaining Member today. To find out more about becoming a KEET member and membership benefits, or if you have any questions or comments about this site or about the services of your public television station, call (707) 445-0813, CLICK HERE to reach us via email, or write to us at PO Box 13, Eureka, CA, 95502. Our Mission

KEET is a community-supported organization that uses public media to present diverse perspectives which educate, inspire, and entertain.

Be an essential, trusted resource for discovering new experiences and ideas that lead to more informed, inclusive communities in Humboldt County and beyond.

Trust - Provide accurate information and accessible, reliable service to our diverse communities.
Mutual Respect - Foster understanding and fair treatment amongst ourselves and our diverse communities.
Partnership - Cultivate relationships with organizations and individuals who share our commitment to improving the quality of life in our diverse communities.

Land Acknowledgment

KEET acknowledges that the land on which we are based is unceded territory and traditional ancestral homeland of the Wiyot Tribe.

KEET also acknowledges that the areas we serve include (but are not limited to) the Wiyot, Hupa, Karuk, Mattole, Tolowa, Wailaki, Yurok, Bear River Band of Rohnerville Rancheria, and other original inhabitants of Humboldt County.

We respect and share our gratitude to Indigenous communities, and we take this opportunity to thank and honor the original caretakers of land they continue to cherish and protect, as elders have instructed the young through generations.

We encourage those in Wiyot territory to make a contribution to the Honor Tax, a system set up by local non-native people as one way to acknowledge the sacrifices and resiliency of the Wiyot people. Though there is no similar system for other Tribes in the region, we encourage direct giving to Tribes and Native-led efforts.
