Image DescriptionKEET-TV Ready To Learn Young Authors and Illustrators Contest Entries are now being accepted for the KEET-TV Ready To Learn Young Writers and Illustrators Contest. The deadline for entry is April 1, 2010.

The contest for children between 3 and 8-years of age. This year we are introducing to new entry levels in addition to the normal Kindergarten through third grade categories. Children who are too young to write or have other developmental ability challenges may dictate their story to an adult. However they must illustrate the story themselves. Stories may also be submitted in Spanish and will be judge by grade level. Please fill out a Young Authors 2010 Entry Form.

KEET Young Authors and Illustrators Contest Creative Kids Writing Workshop - Saturday, March 13, 2010 2:00-4:00 p.m.

If you are having a bad case of writer's block, need a little help creating your story, or just have last minute questions about the KEET Young Authors and Illustrators Contest this is the event for you! In partnership with the Humboldt County Library there will be a creative writing workshop for children who are entering the contest. This workshop will take place in the Children's story room at the Eureka Main Library, 1313 3rd Street and will be facilitated by local children's author, Natasha Wing. The Eureka Library will also be an alternate drop off location for completed stories. You can also have a look at the Story Writing With Arthur webpage.

Forms are also available at your nearest branch of the Humboldt County Library.
